Oregon Growth Account Board

The Oregon Growth Account (OGA) is one way we invest in Oregon. The legislature created the OGA in 1995, giving it a mandate to help create jobs and foster economic development in Oregon, while at the same time generating investment returns for schools. The OGA accomplishes its mission by carefully investing a portion of lottery revenues in Oregon-based ventures. By the end of 2008, OGA had invested $92.4 million in 19 funds. These investments have paid off in new jobs: the total wages earned by workers in the companies OGA has invested in amount to more than $83 million per year.

The OGA does not invest directly in companies: investment decisions are made by independent financial professionals who carefully examine applicants and identify those with the best ideas and best chances for success. We want to help Oregon companies succeed, but we also have a fiduciary duty. The investments will help Oregon entrepreneurs, but they must also generate superior market returns for the beneficiaries: Oregon schoolchildren.

We are constantly on the lookout for tomorrow's success stories. Oregon entrepreneurs are encouraged to contact OGA fund managers and submit their proposals.
